Night Sky is the story of Anna, a brilliant astronomer. When a car accident renders her aphasic, her speech becomes a hodgepodge of disconnected words alternately poetic, funny, confusing and profound. She and her family must fight through the black holes of her mind and journey from her night sky into an unfamiliar world and a new language. A moving story about the resiliency of the human spirit and the universal need to find words to communicate our deepest thoughts and feelings.

Monday, August 18, 6:30 p.m. Writer Heidi Lerner will speak about Gray Matters, her book of poetry that offers an introspective and sometimes humorous view of what it is like to suffer a near-fatal blow to the head and live with its complications at the San Diego Public Library, 820 E Street, San Diego, CA 92101, 2nd Floor Meeting Room. Wednesday, August 6 and September 3, 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center presents "The Sky Tonight" Planetarium Shows with Live Narration. Learn more at www.rhfleet.org.
Night Sky Three Part Arts Education Outreach Program:
In conjunction with Night Sky, we are pleased to offer Three Part Arts, Mo`olelo's signature arts outreach program for high schools. This unique program gives students direct access to the professional directors and actors engaged in our productions.
Part One is a 20-minute pre-show classroom visit by the leading actor of Night Sky, who sparks discussion on the plays themes and prepares students for their theater-going experience. Part Two is a theater field trip to see Night Sky at The Studio Theatre at La Jolla Playhouse. Part Three is a 50-minute post-show classroom workshop. For Night Sky, teachers will choose one of two post-show workshop options: Option A Theater Workshop Option B Science & Disability Awareness WorkshopRecommended for Grades 11 and 12.
